In April 2013 in my second year of study, I was one of five students selected to put forward my design to the Phoenix independent cinema in Leicester for a redesign of their foyer space.

We were presented with a two-week, live project that posed real design problems and budgetary considerations. The main problem that Phoenix faced were that their confectionary produce was not selling and they were losing profits as a result. Another important problem that they identified was that many of their visitors were unaware of the variety of exhibitions on show at the centre, and the directors felt that the identity of the organisation was being lost.

My design focused on the circulation route through the space, and encouraging people to pass through an area of promotional display and confectionary produce.
